disfellowshippingpracticing a bible standard.
disfellowshipping is a procedure which is laid down in the bible .
a young girl who was disfellowshipped and later reinstated said: "i am happy that jehovah loves his people enough to see that his organization is kept clean.

i was doing a little painting at the back of my house and i heard car doors slam.
i peeked around the corner and there the elders were again.. ken p.
I have decided that the next JW at my door will definitely get the hint. I'll take the mags and then ask for more. While they stand at the door I'll toss most of them behind me so that they can't get them back and then I'll rip one in half. "I can really use these in my fireplace!"

i know that this question has been asked before, but there are newer members on the forum, and as a nice diversion, i thought i'd post this question:
since many of us are now no longer jehovah's witnesses, how many of you returned to post-secondary education?
in some cases, i know some quit high school, so if you have returned there, it'd be interesting to hear your stories.
Are you in any form of schooling right now?
No.
What did some of you take in your schooling?
Human sexuality, English, Algebra, Psychology
Did you major in anything?
Biology
Did you attain a certificate/degree/doctorate etc.?
No.
Do you feel fulfilled with your decision?
No! I should have finished.
Do you plan to go back to school/college/university to upgrade?I am registering for this fall semester.
It's cool dude. No hard feelings.

anyone remember this?
at a lecture the other day they were playing an old news video of lt.col.
oliver north testifying at the iran-contra hearings during the reagan administration.
I've been trying to post this in the original post but I keep getting an error. So, I'll put it here.
(Hind-sight is 20/20.....I apologize to everyone on the forum for this post. I apologize for forgetting to put quotes around it as it isn't a firsthand account but just a copy/paste of an email. I apologize for not double checking my source. I apologize for not checking urban legends before posting. I apologize for the "idiot" patriotic comment. I apologize for being a "liar." And if it wasn't for the fact that anyone new reading this wouldn't know what I was talking about, I'd delete the whole d**n thing.)

Sorry for the delay.....I am just seeing all of this today (3-26-03).
Okay, here I am, sucking it up: I WAS WRONG!!!!
My sincerest apologies for posting something that I believed to be true without any proof. I took my friends' word for it that it was true. I thought she had gotten it from a reputable source. Of course, not even our newspapers are entirely reputable.
(I should go call the UN now. I took everyone else's word for it that the WTS was really a member.) j/k

Hey 95stormfront,
I know that it is tough to live out there in the world but I don't understand the "kicked out at 25" thing. You really didn't expect for your parents to take care of you forever..did you???
No, I had lived on my own for years. I simply had no one to care for me after my heart surgery so I let go of my apt and moved in with the folks. I couldn't work so I had little money, what money I did have was drained by my bloodsucking "parents". Even though they knew I had no income and couldn't work, they still charged me $300/month rent and I paid the light bill ($200+). I had a car note, insurance, and credit card bills to pay. I had only planned to stay until I could get back on my feet, financially and health wise, so I could get my own place again. But they drained all my savings, having no sympathy for my situation. When they kicked me out I went to stay with a friend because I couldn't afford my own place. I ended up filing for bankruptcy anyway.

to clarify:.
on this site, and others, i regularly come across people who say they are "moving on", or "getting a life for themselves", or simply stating that they have "outgrown this place".. now, i'm not talking about people who have simply got bored with posting, or are cheesed off with someone else and decide not to post anymore.
i'm talking about ex's who have come here purely as some sort of therapy exercise and believe that, once recovery is achieved, that "moving on" is a necessary conclusion to their re-adjustment back to normality.. in other words, like sandra bullock believed in "28 days", they assume that leaving is a sign that they are no longer operating dysfunctionally.
Englishman,
I have to second your statement:
I love many of the folk here.
First I came here to learn the truth about the Borg. Once convinced that the WTS is a cult, I came to "recover." I am still recovering, though some wounds may never heal. I go away for a while and find that I have 'withdrawal' and have to come back. This forum is addictive. There are many intelligent and insightful folks here and I like to think that I associate with a higher class of people by being here.
